In my presentations, I talk about certainty as one of the keys to disruption. Many in my audience look at me quizzically because they believe that certainty is a good thing. The reason certainty can create problems for an organization is it diminishes flexibility and judgment in decision-making by creating a very narrow lane forward. In short, it takes a whole array of options off of the table. Look around and see how certainty has shaped certain narratives keeping in mind that truth is what the narrative says it is.
